Character name: Antoine D'Coolette

Personality: Oh boy, where to start? Antoine is without a doubt one of the most annoying people you will ever have the displeasure of running into. It's hard to see any redeemable traits underneath everything else. Despite being a loyal member of the Knothole Freedom Fighters, he is, above all else, a complete and utter coward. He is easily startled, easy to scare, and just about anything will make him quake in his boots. He also shares many undesirable characteristics with Sonic: he is vain, self-centered, stubborn, pig-headed, has bouts of extreme overconfidence, and doesn't learn his lesson. However, where Sonic usually ends up doing something right along the way and saving the day, Ant never does. His clumsiness--usually tripping over something, if not his own two feet--along with his other combined characteristics gets him into a lot of trouble, or others if he accidentally gives them away. He prefers to do things himself, enjoying a more solitary lifestyle.

To top it all off, he is incredibly jealous of Sonic for having won Sally's heart long ago. He has an unreasonably strong crush on the Princess, but his attempts to one-up Sonic never work (and once nearly got him roboticized). Now that Robotnik is, for the moment, gone, and Sonic and Sally's relationship is stronger than ever (seriously, get a room, guys), he has begun to back off somewhat, though keeps it up out of stubbornness and sheer pride.

There is some good to him--else why would they bother keeping him around and saving him all the time? Antoine, despite everything, is a true gentleman, following a chivalric code instilled in him as a child. (This only applies to the chicks; sorry, dude.) He tries to be as helpful as possible on missions and, sometimes, around Knothole; he wanted to get rid of Robotnik as much as anyone else, after all. Though all of his attempts to help usually end up in him bumbling something up somewhere along the line. And for all of his cowardice, he would give his life for Sally if it came down to it. (And maybe his fellow Freedom Fighters. Anyone else, you're on your own, unless he positively has to for whatever reason.)

He prefers high quality in everything from decor to food. He's a total clean freak, at least when it comes to his clothes and his home. He also speaks English and French. Since he grew up in a French-speaking part of the world, English is his second language, and, if you can understand anything through his obscenely thick French accent, usually either misuses words, mispronounces them, and/or uses horrible grammar. This is very easily mocked. Just like everything else about the snooty coyote.

History: Born in the Delmont Province in the Mobian year 3216, Antoine D'Coolette (Depardieu was his mother's maiden name) was older than his future Freedom Fighter friends by a few years when he met them. He was trained as a squire at a young age, he was to take his father's place among the Royal Guardians when the time came. With his father so closely tied to the safety and security of Mobotropolis and the royal family, Antoine frequently visited the city, where he met and befriended Sonic, Sally, Bunnie, and Rotor.

In the year 3224, Julian--or rather, the evil Dr. Robotnik--staged a military coup, overthrowing King Acorn, turning the city into Robotropolis, polluting the air and the water, capturing the citizens that he could, turning them into robots, and driving out all the rest. At the request of Sir Charles (aka Uncle Chuck, Sonic's brilliant uncle), Rosie, the nanny of the group of kids, used a hidden passageway to take them to Knothole, a village in the Great Forest outside of the ruined city.

As they grew, the kids would become one of the many groups of Freedom Fighters, determined to kick Robotnik's slimy ass any way they can. Antoine, knowing nothing else in his life, decided that he was Sally's Royal Guardian and in charge of her safety, using the lessons learned from his father to help the gang as well as he could (...which sadly is not much at all).

Ten years after the incident (Antoine being 19 at the time), Sonic and Sally were able to defeat Robotnik, destroying his Doomsday Project, as well as reverting Robotropolis to nothing but scrap. Little do they know of the danger lurking in Snively and his new ally, but for now, they are enjoying a time of relaxing peace.
